Huawei’s Ascend P1 S may hold the crown of “world’s thinnest smartphone,” but that may very well be changing soon. Fellow Chinese manufacturer ZTE is cooking up a low calorie smartphone of its own and it’s a bit of a doozy. Said to be carrying the codename “Athena,” ZTE’s latest project will reportedly have a lean form factor of 6.2mm thin. Not just a phone on a diet, this unannounced device will allegedly feature a 720p display, an ARM Cortex-A15 processer, up to 64GB of internal storage,  ZTE’s in-house Miflavor UI and Android 4.0. Carrier details remain unknown, but we’re willing to bet that the U.S. of A isn’t getting first dibs on this thin handset. Too bad the pictures aren’t good enough to provide us a decent look at the phone, but hopefully we’ll hear and see more soon.
