Mobile World Congress 2019 has been about two things: foldable phones and 5G. If you won’t have a device that falls in the former, then you definitely have one the latter category. ZTE became the latest smartphone maker to jump into the 5G face with its new flagship device, the Axon 10 Pro 5G.

As the name suggests, ZTE’s new device will be ready to support the next-gen 5G network that carriers promise will roll out in 2019. To make this possible ZTE, outfitted its newest device with the latest hardware from Qualcomm including the Snapdragon 855 processor and the X50 5G modem. Hardware in tow, the Axon 10 Pro 5G will just need the networks to catch up to take advantage of the faster data speeds.

“ZTE Mobile Devices is committed to continuous consumer-centric innovations, aimed at providing a valuable 5G smart experience to consumers under comprehensive applicable scenarios, by establishing an ecosystem with 5G smart devices and IoT products,” said ZTE CEO of Mobile DEvices, Xu Feng.

5G aside, this is also a beast of a phone that differs starkly from ZTE’s other more affordable devices. The Axon 10 Pro 5G comes with an impressive 6.47-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 by 1080p, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

Most other ZTE phones tends to stick to reserved specs to allow for more economical pricing, but with the new device, it shows ZTE is ready to branch out to a new market of more premium handsets.

ZTE said the Axon 10 Pro 5G will come out in the first half of 2019 in Europe and China. No word yet on if it’ll come to the US. Pricing wasn’t revealed during the announcement.
