ZTE on Thursday went beyond merely confirming the existence of its 5-inch Grand S ahead of next month's CES, sharing a few teaser specs with the Chinese media and specs that'll certainly whet the appetites of phablet connoisseurs. Here's what we know:

The device will sport a 5-inch display, 13-megapixel camera, and measure in at just 6.9mm, which is pretty darn thin. Thinner than the Droid DNA, and even the Nubia Z5. ZTE doesn't have much of a reputation here in the U.S., but it looks like it's actively attempting to put itself on the map with something very thin, and quite big.

Other possible (but unconfirmed) specs include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip and 2GB of RAM. ZTE was coy with potential pricing, but speculation is pitting the Grand S somewhere in the ¥2,799 ($449) range off-contract. I guess we'll know soon enough when CES kicks off early next month.
