ZTE today announced its latest smartphone—the Blade Z Max. The Blade Z Max is the successor to the ZMax Pro as part of ZTE’s highly popular low-end smartphone line. It puts the focus on two major features customers have been clamoring for—better battery and a better camera.

The Blade Z Max continues its ZMax Pro lineage of 6-inch displays with a 6-inch Full HD 1080p display of its own. Inside it features a Snapdragon 435 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with MicroSD expandability of up to 128GB and Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. An 8MP camera is present on the front side and the fingerprint scanner is at the center of the back and can store up to five fingerprints.

Where the Blade Z Max really stands out is its gigantic 4,080mAh battery and new dual-camera system with a 16MP and 2MP lens. ZTE vice president of technology, planning and partnerships Jeff Yee revealed that these are the two main features customers look for in a phone. And ZTE delivered.

The 4,080mAh battery is bigger than any battery found in other major flagships from Apple and Samsung. And it comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, making it easier to replenish if it ever does get low.

ZTE claims it made a big improvement with the camera by including a dual-camera set-up. It consists of a 16MP lens that is the main camera and a 2MP lens that is a monochrome shooter. It will do more than just the normal portrait mode dual-cameras have become famous for. ZTE has upgraded the algorithms to improve the depth map and RGB.

The ZTE Blade Z Max will be available today for preorder for $130 through MetroPCS and at select MetroPCS stores August 28.
