There has been lot of disruption in the budget phone segment with phones like the OnePlus 3 and Nexus 5X, and ZTE wants in on the action. It is making an impressive effort with the ZTE Axon 7 Mini, which is available for pre-order starting today. The name is quite a mouthful, but the phone itself packs a punch worth checking out.

Boasting a 5.2-inch AMOLED display, expandable storage, 8MP camera, dual front-facing stereo speakers and an all-metal design, the Axon 7 Mini is a beast of a budget phone. That’s not even it’s most impressive feature. Coming in at a price of $299, it undercuts much of its competition with a stellar price for the amount of features it delivers.

ZTE is also sweetening the deal with the Axon Passport Program 2.0, which is a 2-year unlimited warranty. Anything from repairs to upgrade assistance, it is all covered.

If you are in the market for a budget phone, the Axon 7 Mini makes a strong case for your consideration. The phone will be available in two colors: Ion Gold (a Best Buy exclusive for the first 60 days) and Platinum Gray.

Sometimes cheaper can be better

With the growing budget phone segment, many manufacturers are making sub-$300 phones a priority. The phone landscape is shifting towards two primary segments: high-end and budget, and ZTE has both ends covered with the Axon 7 and Axon 7 Mini.
