Both good news and bad new from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild today. The good portion of our story today is that we have a whole new batch of screenshots to drool over while we wait to finally play this game on March 3.
I haven’t been a fan of the console Legend of Zelda games since Wind Waker, but there is nothing in these screenshots that tell me I’m misplacing any faith in this project. Breath of the Wild is going to be truly special in the ways that Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword weren’t.
And if the images above aren’t enough for you, here are a few of those shots below recreated using the Wii U version. I don’t think I’m alone in liking the Switch version’s better, especially the lighting effects. They tower over the Wii U’s limited powers.
However, producer says no Japanese voice acting abroad
The bad news is that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not support Japanese voice acting with the English or other European language subtitles. Producer Eiji Aonuma stated this much in an interview with IGN Portugal, meaning that those who want to hear Zelda’s shriek in Japanese are out of luck unless they want to import and use Japanese subtitles as well.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U on March 3.
