Sony has announced that the YouTube app for the PlayStation Vita will be available on the device's PS Store today. They revealed the coming of the software earlier this month, and that revelation has now moved into the realm of quickly pending.

The application itself is straightforward and easy to use. Key features include:

  • Recommended Videos: Displays videos recommended from YouTube
  • Search: Search for videos by typing a keyword
  • Viewing History : Displays the most recent videos you've viewed
  • Add to Favorites: Displays a list of videos you've added to your Favorites list. You must be signed into your account to add a video to your Favorites.

Wait a minute, these features are essentially exactly what every other YouTube application offers.

Despite that, the PlayStation Vita flavor looks sleek and smooth. If you'd rather look at video content on the nice 5″ OLED that the Vita sports as opposed to on your likely smaller phone, be sure to grab the application. It's not available for download as of writing this post, but it will be live today. It will be free.

Who plans to download the app?
