Waze is giving users yet another reason to love the the mapping service: you can now drive around and evade traffic as a Mazda MX-5.
This marks the first time an automaker has launched a car icon on Waze, and Mazda went all out by including its wildly popular Miata roadster. Previously, Waze only allowed users to select generic options like Blue car, Bus, Race Car, Motorbike and SUV.
Waze users have the ability to add the Miata as their navigation icon through the settings menu. To do this, go to Settings > Display & Map > Car on Map > Choose Mazda MX-5 Miata and you’ll be ready to roll around as a Miata. The Miata is displayed on Waze as a silver convertible model.
The Mazda and Waze partnership will extend to dealers. When Waze users drive around and pass near a Mazda dealer they will be greeted with a pin with the Mazda logo that highlights their location.
Go into your Waze settings and begin navigating as a Miata.
