The abundance of streaming services means you’ll rarely find yourself without something to watch. But actually pinpointing what service offers a particular movie can be frustrating. Some set-top boxes offer universal search, sure, but aside from sites like Can I Stream It?, finding out what services offers what has never been easy. With Yahoo’s new Video Guide, however, searching for a specific movie is a cinch.

Yahoo describes its app as “the streaming app to rule them all.” That description, however, is a bit disingenuous, because Yahoo Video Guide isn’t actually a streaming app. Rather, it allows users to search from one place across services like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Go, ABC, Fox, CBS, YouTube, Cartoon Network, and more. In all, Video Guide supports over 30 services, making it easy to find movies and TV shows.

And if you don’t really know what you want to watch, Yahoo Video Guide will help you out with a “Mood Picker,” which will recommend titles depending on how you’re feeling. Feeling pumped up? Go for an action flick. Want to be scared? Horror it is.

When you search for something, Yahoo will link out to other services, so the usefulness of Video Guide will depend on what you use already and what you’re subscribed to. If you search for something and you find out it’s on HBO, yet you’re not subscribed to HBO Now, Video Guide loses its appeal somewhat.

Either way, it makes searching for content across multiple services super easy. You can download Yahoo Video Guide for iOS and Android for free.
