Last we heard, the Xperia Z4 wasn’t set to launch until sometime this summer, but it looks like Sony is already putting the rumored phone to the test. A new device from the Japanese company was spotted on Geekbench this week with high-end specs worthy of the upcoming flagship handset.

The device sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor (referred to here by its model number MSM8994) and offers 2822MB of RAM, which will likely be rounded up to 3GB at launch. It’s also running the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop. That’s all we know for now, though based on these specs it sounds like this could be the upcoming Xperia Z4. Then again, it might also be the rumored Z4 Ultra or even the Z4 Tablet Ultra that leaked out back in Dec.

Either way, Sony is clearly gearing up to announce something big, though it could be a few more months before we get an official look. The Xperia Z4 is expected to skip Mobile World Congress next month for a debut closer to the summer, while the mid-range Xperia E4 is already set to appear at the Barcelona trade show. Sony fans may find this will be worth the wait, however.
