The Xperia Z4 is expected to hit the market sometime in 2015, but if you’re hoping for a launch early this year we have some bad news. The upcoming flagship phone may not launch until the summer, Xperia Blog reports, despite earlier claims that Sony might would the device this March at Mobile World Congress.

We still don’t know a whole lot about the Xperia Z4, though it’s expected to offer all the latest high-end hardware. We’re expecting a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 4GB of RAM, at least 32GB of storage and an upgraded camera. We might also get an Xperia Z4 Compact and an Xperia Z4 Ultra based on recent rumors.

Based on today’s report, it sounds as though Sony could be moving away from its old strategy of announcing a new flagship phone every six months. Instead, we may get one big stand-alone event this summer where a whole new Xperia lineup will be announced. Then again, the company may still announce something at MWC, even if it’s not the flagship Z4.
