Sony hasn’t unveiled the Xperia Z3 yet and already we’re starting to hear rumors about the Xperia Z3 Compact, a smaller version of the phone that will likely offer similar flagship specs — at least if it follows in the same footsteps of the “Compact” Xperia phones before it. Today we’re getting a sneak peak at what the Xperia Z3 Compact will offer.
According to DooMLoRD_XDA, someone who reportedly has a solid track record spilling Sony smartphone leaks, the device will offer a 4.5-inch screen, a Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 20.7-megapixel camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It will probably have the same sort of water resistance that earlier Xperia devices have offered, too. The major updates over the Xperia Z1 Compact seem to be the display size, likely the software, and bump in processor.
We don’t know when the Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact will make their debut, but our gut tells us that Sony might bring both along for the IFA trade show in Berlin this September.
