One of the sleekest Android tablets in recent memory is reportedly on its way to Verizon. According to Evleaks, Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet will hit the carrier soon, giving an already excellent device that extra data perk. It isn't exactly clear what day/week/month the slate will be available, and for what price, but chances are we'll hear something official soon.
Sony's Xperia Z2 Tablet is notable for its incredible hardware, though we did have some issues with the optimization of its software. That's not to say Sony's skin isn't pretty, because it is. We actually got our hands on another Z2 Tablet model to test out, and will report back if we find any differences in speed. But as far as Android tablets go, this is one of the best out there—better, I'd wager, than Samsung's efforts.
The thing about the Z2 tablet, however, is that it starts at $499, which is much more expensive than, say, a Nexus 7. You do get the benefit of a bigger display, though, and the hardware definitely puts the Z2 Tablet on another level. The slate, meanwhile, is waterproof, and features some excellent specs to boot. Throw in Verizon data, and you have yourself a pretty powerful machine.
