Assuming these live shots are real, Sony’s next flagship will look a lot like its current flagship.
Sony doesn’t seem interested in making the Xperia XZ3 a big upgrade over the Xperia XZ2. The leaked photos, which were published online by Sumahoinfo, reveal the Xperia XZ3 from the front and back. While the front appears completely unchanged, the only difference on the back is the addition of another camera lens.
Based on the photos, the Xperia XZ3 will ship with a dual-camera setup. There should be 19MP and 12MP lenses paired together, according to a previous report.
The odd thing here, though, is that Sony is putting the dual-camera setup way too close to the back’s center. Your fingers are bound to cover at least one of the lenses during regular use.
The biggest problem for Sony is that its mobile devices haven’t kept up with the times. Its phones and tablets looked outdated in recent years, and the company doesn’t give them significant pushes on a global level. With the Xperia XZ2, Sony is going in the right direction but at a slow pace.
Sony’s Xperia XZ3 is expected to become official later this year at IFA 2018.
