Xiaomi is ready to make its name known around the world. Following its filing for an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong, the Chinese company is looking outside of Asia to increase revenue. With as much as $10 billion being generated after going public, Xiaomi stands in a strong position to go global.

The company announced that it will expand into Europe in the coming weeks, starting with France and Italy.

If you’re in France, you’ll see Xiaomi go live with sales on May 22. Xiaomi will then begin sales in Italy on May 24. The company didn’t say what products and services will be offered, though. Beyond giving launch dates for both markets, Xiaomi didn’t provide much additional information.

Rather than relying solely on the Mi Store, Xiaomi’s push into Europe will involve partners. Since few people outside of Asia know Xiaomi, carriers and retailers are needed to boost the brand’s profile.

CK Hutchison, the parent company of United Kingdom carrier Three, struck a deal with Xiaomi to sell its phones throughout the region.

Xiaomi didn’t say anything about jumping into the United States, but the company’s mentioned before that late 2018 or early 2019 are of interest. However, companies like Huawei and ZTE have been experiencing issues with the U.S. government as of late. If the company does plan on entering the U.S., Xiaomi needs to prove to lawmakers and regulators that there are no national security concerns.

When Xiaomi’s lineup in Europe is unveiled, expect low prices. Xiaomi has been able to make a name for itself by rolling out quality hardware and software with affordable pricing attached, which is because the company mostly sells directly to consumers.
