Xiaomi failed to deliver on rumors that its new flagship phone would debut last week at CES 2015, but it looks like those claims weren’t too far off. The Chinese company just confirmed that it will announce its latest Mi handset on Thursday, Jan. 15, though it’s still unclear if the upcoming device will be called the Mi5 or Mi4S.

With just a few more days to go, 9to5Google is also offering up a some new details on the upcoming smartphone. A research note obtained from KGI Research suggests the Xiaomi Mi5 could sport a design “as thin as a cicada’s wings.” It’s also expected to offer an improved 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 5.7-inch display and a 3000mAh battery.

Xiaomi is set to announce the new phone this week, but the device may not actually launch until next month. KGI adds that mass production won’t kick off until Feb., when the company is expected to ship at least 12 million units. As usual, the Mi5 will likely come at an extremely competitive price, though the Chinese giant still hasn’t expanded very far beyond its home country.
