The monsters in Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii were pretty darn cool, if you ask me. They were each inventive, and a lot of them did a great job showing the scope and scale of the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U clearly looks to continue that trend. As the official Japanese site updates, we have a look at a whole slew of new monsters, complete with a video detailing one encounter entirely in Japanese.

Yep, this guy looks huge.

Japan gets Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U on April 29th. That’s why we’re seeing so much in the way of Japanese focused media, assets and information lately. Nintendo of Japan is prepping the region for launch.

The western world? We’ll have to wait until later in the year. Xenoblade Chronicles X does not have a western release date set yet, though it is slated to drop sometime in 2015. We’re waiting on localization, of course. If this game is as big as its predecessor, that takes a long time.

We’ll have more on Xenoblade Chronicles X as we have it. Stay tuned.
