Microsoft has officially announced the release date for the Xbox One. Gamers will be able to dive into the next big piece of gaming hardware the company offers on November 22nd, 2013. The Xbox One will sell for $499 at launch.

The system will be available on that date in 13 territories. Here they are, as per the Xbox Wire.

Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA.

That site goes on to indicate that “Many more markets will follow in 2014.”

The PlayStation 4, of course, will launch on November 15th. That’s a full week before consumers will be able to get their hands on Microsoft’s next console. That system will sell for $399.

Will that week make a big difference in sales? Or, will Microsoft be able to recoup any lost ground straight away?

We’ll have more on the Xbox One as it comes.
