Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb and the Xbox team have done up a nice, little video hands-on of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the upcoming class-based shooter from PopCap Games.
All told, this clip checks in at around four minutes and 30 seconds in length, and it features Major Nelson giving a brushing overview of what players will find in Garden Warfare when it drops next week. As PopCap is now a subsidiary of EA, expect a whole lot of explanation by comparison from Major Nelson. One of those main comparisons comes in the form of Garden Warfare and Battlefield. Yes.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will hit the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Feb. 25. The PC version’s release date has not been announce yet. If you own all three (lucky), then it’s worth noting that the Xbox One variant comes with two extra bells and whistles. The new console is the only place where you’ll find splitscreen play and the game mode that makes use of the tablet device to drop items from Crazy Dave’s flying RV.
We’ll see if that latter feature catches on when the game releases next week.
