Apple almost always uses WWDC to introduce new versions of its operating systems. We expect to hear about iOS 11 this year, as well as updates to macOS, watchOS and tvOS, if things go as planned. It doesn't always have hardware at the show, so don't get too excited for that just yet. Instead, Apple will probably wait until September to unveil its latest smartphones that take advantage of the new software.

iOS 11 not a lock yet, but it'll probably happen

iOS 11 is far from a confirmed name, and, indeed, there aren't many rumors about what it might support just yet. Still, Apple holds a press conference on the first day of the show, and we'd be shocked if a new version of iOS wasn't previewed.
