What you need to know

  • Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins shared a poster for the movie.
  • The poster showcases Wonder Woman in powerful new armor.

Warner Bros. won't be at San Diego Comic-Con this year, which means we won't get a glimpse of movies like Wonder Woman 1984. To satiate fan thirst, director Patty Jenkins shared a poster for the film, and it is absolutely bonkers.

By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year. We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full--  But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait… pic.twitter.com/QllFzhYRA6

— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) June 5, 2019

"By now you've heard: WB isn't going to Hall H this year," Jenkins said on Twitter. "We're so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full. But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait."

The poster features Gal Gadot's Diana Prince (a.k.a. Wonder Woman) set to a very '80s backdrop, complete with virtually every color on the spectrum. More importantly, Wonder Woman is wearing powerful new gold-plated armor, which is unlike anything we've seen her wear on the big screen.

Jenkins has been pretty active on social media over the past several months, where she's shared images from Wonder Woman 1984, including a look at Chris Pine's Steve Trevor and Kristen Wiig's Barbara Ann Minerva (a.k.a. Cheetah). This latest poster is the best image yet, and should really reinvigorate hype for the upcoming movie.

Before the release of the first Wonder Woman movie, Warner Bros. released several triumphant posters with a powerful message about courage and power. If this first image is anything to go by, Wonder Woman 1984 will feature posters that are equally as impressive.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on June 5, 2020.

Wonder Woman 1984 isn't a sequel
