Over the past couple weeks we’ve seen pictures of all the major characters involved in Wonder Woman 1984. First it was Steve Trevor in full ’80s garb, then it was Wonder Woman in her glitzy armor. Now, we have our first look at the film’s villain.
Director Patty Jenkins posted the first image of Kristen Wigg as Barbara Minerva, a.k.a. Cheetah, on Twitter, giving us our first look at Wonder Woman’s nemisis. Like Steve Trevor, Barbara very much looks like a character from the ’80s, with poofy hair and baggy clothes. She seems to be inside a natural history museum with collections of animals on display, including a tiger, giraffe and stag.
We can’t make too much of the scene as it’s just a snippet. It’s not clear how Babara will play into the film’s plot or how she will eventually transform into Cheetah.
In the comic books, Barbara Minerva is a British archaeologist who who has the ability to transform into in Cheetah.
Wonder Woman 1984 is in production now and has a tentative release date for November 1, 2019.
