The Witcher 3 Sells 4 Million

In two weeks since its launch, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has done really well for CD Projekt RED. So well, in fact, that CEO Marcin Iwiński sent out a letter to fans early on Tuesday as a way of saying thanks.

In that letter, Iwiński revealed that the RPG has already moved 4,000,000 units. Crazy.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the four million gamers worldwide who bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the first two weeks from launch. Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is! Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.

As far as I’m concerned, The Witcher 3 released at a wonderful time. Not much else is out for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One that’s nearly as compelling, and the PC gaming crowd absolutely fell in love with the franchise with Assassins of Kings. The game’s stellar quality in the pause and releases gave way to a genuine opportunity for great sales.

And here we are, nearing a month since its launch, and we know that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold four million in 14 days. Kudos to CD Projekt RED.
