While The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a pure beauty on a genuinely strong gaming PC (even mid-range ones, to be honest), the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game have had some issues. I’ve been rocking on the PS4. While it looks nice, I have noticed tons of framerate drops and odd graphical glitches.

The Xbox One presents a slightly more stable framerate, though its resolution is lower. When I say that the framerate is slightly more stable than that of the PS4, I mean that it doesn’t jump around quite as much. It still jumps, falling 10, 15 and even 20 frames at a time during play.

Well, it might not be at 60fps, but the Xbox One’s performance will be locked in the next patch. The Witcher 3 on Xbox One will be locked to 30fps.

CD Projekt Community Lead Marcin Momot is who you see in that tweet above.

Why would you want a game to be locked at 30 and not allowed to roam higher? Well, when the drops and variance are so constant, even at higher speeds, players notice. It doesn’t fall and get sluggish, but Witcher 3 stutters. This 30fps lock will eliminate that stutter.

Quite honestly, I want the same patch for the PlayStation 4. I don’t need 60fps, I just need stability.
