Windows 8 notebook

Developers can now register and submit applications to the Windows Store.  Registration is open in 120 countries, at $99 a year for corporations, $49 for individuals and free for a year to MSDN and DreamSpark members. So far there are just over a thousand apps available in the store. That number should pick up quite quickly over the next two months as developers prepare for the release of Windows 8.

Apps will be available in 231 markets, with a third taking local currency as payment and the remaining markets will accept euros or U.S. dollars. As with any successful operating system, the ecosystem is vital to adoption.  The greatest appeal of Android and iOS is the robust library of available apps.  We’ve noted Windows 8 to be very promising and we hope these apps help grow the platform.
