Microsoft said it has sold 60 million Windows 8 licenses since launch, even despite the bold new OS looking much different on the surface (no pun intended). That's great, and shows there's real interest. But not everyone is happy with the changes. Some people want out, and they'll pay good money to rid their machines of any traces of Windows 8

One certified shop is offering those who upgraded the chance to go back to Windows 7 for a "special" fee of just $125. Maybe people are confused by the Modern UI. Or maybe Windows 7 is just more cozy.

Whatever the case may be, it doesn't bode well for those 60 million Windows 8 licenses when customers are willing to pay just to steer clear. Just because there's a sign at a certified location doesn't mean people are flocking to downgrade, though. But the fact that such an offer exists is a punch to Microsoft's gut.
