WayForward, one the today’s best companies when it comes to creating retro inspired games, is officially 25 years old. With the anniversary comes a celebratory sale, and I know I’m taking advantage of the offerings.

In order to kick off the anniversary, which WayForward says it’ll be celebrating in a number of ways this year, the company has selected a few of its “fan favorite titles” to discount. The discounts are pretty solid, especially on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, so you’ll want to dive in and snag these games while they’re on the cheap.

First, on the PSN, the interesting platform-puzzler Might Flip Champs! DX is totally free for PlayStation Plus members only. This game is technically a Mini, so it will play on the PS Vita, PS3 and PSP.

On iOS, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge is totally free, too. The brand new Mighty Switch Force! Hose It Down! clocks in at 50 percent off its asking price, and that makes it 99 cents. Sold.

The Steam side of the sale only offers Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut at 75 percent off, bringing that one down to $2.49.

Finally, the Nintendo portion offers the most discounts. Here we go…

Nintendo 3DS

  • Might Switch Force! – $1.49
  • Mighty Switch Force! 2 – $1.49
  • Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse – $14.99

Wii U

  • Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition – $2.49
  • Mighty Switch Force! 2 – $1.49
  • Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse – $14.99

It’s a darn shame these games don’t offer some sort of cross-buy feature.

I think I just spent roughly eight bucks on WayForward games and walked away with five or six titles. That’s a pretty solid score.

The sales all run until March 19 except for the PSN deal. That one only goes until the 17. Are you picking any of these up?
