You don’t have an open-world crime game without a colorful cast of characters, and you don’t introduce them to the public without an intense montage. Ubisoft has put a lot of hype behind Watch_Dogs‘ protagonist Aiden Pearce, but it’s a little obvious he can’t survive the city of Chicago alone. He’s going to need allies to aid him in his struggles against the city watch.
The only problem is he can’t quite tell yet who is friend and who is foe.
A new trailer from Ubisoft highlights the group of renegades that Pierce allies himself with. A pyromaniac, a slick fixer for hire, a charming yet brutal crime lord, of course, a lady hacker because every third-person shooter protagonist needs a sweet voice in his ear shouting out instructions. Seriously, how many games of this type have this exact same character?
“In a city of 3 million people, you’d be surprised how few you can trust.” Pierce needs people like this in a pinch, but yet he surrounds himself with what looks like the most untrustworthy of people. You have to wonder if his trust issues and insecurities are self inflicted.
Watch_Dogs will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox On and PC on May 27. A Wii U version is on the way and Ubisoft is currently making the port a top priority.
