We hope Watch_Dogs wasn’t too high on your “must-buy” list for 2013. Ubisoft has elected to push the hotly anticipated title’s launch back into 2014.

The news comes by way of an official Ubisoft blog post by their own Gary Steinman. Please note, the site has been up and down several times since writing this story you’re reading now. Here’s a bit of that post.

Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014.

Steinman indicates that the team behind Watch_Dogs didn’t want to sacrifice quality in order to get the title out this fall. We were supposed to see the game in November, roughly a month from today.

Ubisoft did not indicate when Watch_Dogs will release in 2014, just that it slipped until next spring. An exact release date will surely come soon. The title will sell for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. We’ll have more on it as it comes.
