Xbox One Hands-On and First Impressions From E3

Microsoft has been caught up in a whirlwind of controversy over its policies regarding the Xbox One, and this has overshadowed the console itself. While the new rules in regards to loaning and selling games may have everyone worked up, we still have to wonder what the console itself is actually like.

I got to spend some time with the console and its controller at E3 in Los Angeles this week and have to say I walked away happy with the feeling of the controller. I preferred the Xbox 360 controller over the DualShock 2 that came with the PlayStation 3, but the newly designed model that will ship with the PlayStation 4 has definitely evened the playing field between the two. If controller comfort is high on your priority list when choosing a console, you’re going to have a much tougher time picking a winner in this generation.

The controller feels great, the console looks nice and the graphics are awesome, but Microsoft is still going to have an uphill battle this holiday season due to its new policies. We’re definitely going to be watching how this plays out.
