TechnoBuffalo’s Driven: 2013 Mazda 2 Review

by Roy Choi | June 13, 2013June 13, 2013 4:30 pm EST

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new car to test out here in the office.  So we were excited to cruise around in the Mazda 2.  The compact Mazda 2 has got to have the biggest smile on the market as far as bumper/grills go.

The 2013 Mazda 2 comes with a 1.5-liter DOHC 16 valve 4-cylinder engine pushing out 100 hp.  As far as efficiency goes the Mazda 2 promises EPA estimated 19 city and 35 highway miles per gallon on the manual version we drove. And unlike some of the other Mazda cars we’ve driven here, the Mazda 2 does not offer SKYATIV technology, though you only lose a few MPGs.

The Mazda 2 is a great car for drivers looking for a reliable car in the budget friendly category (starting at $14,720, tested model was $16,210).
