We gave you a quick look at some pictures snapped by Sony’s mid-range Xperia X and we’re following that up with pictures taken with the Xperia X Performance. This is Sony’s highest-end device and one that comes with a hefty to price to match. Cost aside, we’re most curious about how the camera holds up during everyday use. Let’s take a look, shall we?
I want to say up front that the sensor included in the X Performance is the same as the one found in the Xperia X, which means we should expect similar results. That being said, even with same technology on board, the beefier specs do improve the device’s performance slightly. You notice anything major when swiping between apps and whatnot, but when you need to launch the camera app in a hurry, the X Performance won’t let you down.
The device sports a 23-megapixel sensor that Sony says was tweaked and prodded by the company’s Alpha team, so in theory, you should get excellent results. We’re not here to judge them but instead want you to check them out for yourselves. Similar to the Xperia X, the X Performance shoots 8-megapixel images out of the box, though you can change them to 23-megapixel in settings.
