Sony A1E OLED TV: This 65-inch TV is a sight to behold

The future of TVs is 4K quality and OLED panels. That much is known, but waiting for the right 4K OLED TVs to arrive has meant slow adoption of this new era. Sony is making a big push with the Sony A1E OLED TV.

Back to the early days of plasma some ten years ago, TVs have become a symbol of status in one’s home. The flatter and higher resolution the TV, the more impressed your guests will be. You are guaranteed to score nods of approval if you pick up the A1E for your household.

This gargantuan 65-inch OLED panel is big, there is no other way to put it. As a viewer, you are immersed in the vast canvass. And make no mistake about it, it is a wonder to behold. Watching any show or movie on it is an experience. Images look crisp and colors look vivid. That is what you get out of an OLED panel.

In case you want something more reserved or something truly gaudy, Sony also offers the A1E in 55-inch and 75-inch variants.

Making the TV more impressive is its impossibly thin frame. It is just over a quarter of an inch thick. To put it into context, it is thinner than a pinky finger.

Sony also included what it calls Acoustic Surface technology to deliver a high-end audio experience. Essentially, the display glass is the speaker, vibrating as it relays the sounds. The tech responsible for this is kind of quirky but it sounds great.

Aside from watching content, we played Call of Duty: WWII on an Xbox One X with max specs (4K at 60 fps), and it is next-level gaming. Powerful gaming consoles (like the One X) were meant to be played on powerful OLED TVs like the A1E.

Powering the 4K High Dynamic Range is the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme. It is not only responsible for the usual TV layout of menus, but also integration with Google Assistant. A dedicated button on the control lets you dictate anything you want to do. Asking “Okay Google, play the latest YouTube video from TechnoBuffalo” will do just that. Since it is an Android TV, you will also get access to the myriad of Android apps for the TV like Netflix, Hulu and YouTube.

If you are looking for a TV that covers every possible checkmark you want out of a TV, Sony’s A1E OLED TV does exactly that. It supports all of the features you want out of a TV while boasting cutting-edge specs that ensure it will be future-proof.
