On this week’s episode of Rumor Roundup, we focus in on another fresh Galaxy S7 rumor, the OnePlus X, and some early rumblings about the iPhone 7. Wait, didn’t the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus just come out?
A fresh report out of China claims the even more affordable OnePlus X, which could cost as little as $249, is coming out in October. A previous rumor claimed the device wouldn’t be ready until November at the earliest, but you know how these things go. The cheap phone will apparently sport a fresh new design, and retain the fingerprint sensor, which was a great part of the OnePlus 2 experience.
First we heard the Galaxy s7 would sport an unusual camera array, and now we’re hearing it’s not going to make the cut. Which is it? ETNews reports Samsung is very much intending to introduce a dual-lens camera into a future phone, but seeing as the Galaxy S7’s release has been pushed up to January, it’s not going to be ready. Better luck next time.
Finally, there are already reports about the iPhone 7, which a Weibo posting says will be made out of entirely new material. Even better, it will be much more water resistant, which is actually part of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus design; Apple just didn’t make a big deal of it. At this point, who knows what the iPhone 7 will look like, but you can bet we’ll hear plenty of new rumors over the coming weeks and months.

OnePlus hasn’t been shy about its plans to launch a cheaper handset later this year. Now a new rumor claims the device will arrive as soon as next month at an extremely affordable price. GizmoChina reports that the “OnePlus X” is set to launch in October, citing “credible factory sources.” The device will apparently feature less than cutting […]
Last month a report out of Korea claimed Samsung could pack the Galaxy S7 with a pair of cameras in back. Now a new rumor claims that feature won’t make the cut, though the company is apparently still hard at work on a dual-lens setup. According to ETNews, Samsung plans to finish up its new camera […]
Apple knows how to make a great smartphone, but there are a few areas where the iPhone lags far behind its competition. Wireless charging is still missing in action, as is a water resistant design — even if the latest phones still worked after submersion in one test — but the Cupertino company may have a a […]
