Nexus 7 2013 Unboxing: Google’s Tablet Slims Down

Google has returned with a second iteration of its popular Nexus 7. While the name of the device may not have changed, but the device itself has certainly had some tweaks done.

Lighter, thinner and with a higher resolution screen, the new Nexus 7 is an impressive device at first glance. The loss of a bit of weight is immediately noticeable from the moment you remove it from the box. If you thought last year’s model was comfortable, you haven’t seen anything yet until you try this one.

As an added bonus, you’ve got Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board from the outset, so you’ll be running the newest version of the operating system. As this is a Nexus device, you’ll also get the updates as soon as they are released into the wild.

We’ll be back with a full hands-on in short order, but judging by first impressions, the new Nexus 7 is going to be a winner for Google.
