Here at TechnoBuffalo we’re not all gadgets and fun, we also have a bit of a social conscience.  With that, we’ve teamed up with AT&T to help promote the “It can Wait” campaign to eliminate texting while driving.  For many people (my Mom included) driving can be difficult enough, but maneuvering a few thousand pound machine while distracted by your phone can have deadly consequences.  So, on behalf of AT&T and the entire TechnoBuffalo staff, we are asking you all to think about it before you do it.  Are your “ROFLcopter” or “That’s what she said” texts really worth risking your life or someone else’s?    So, now that I’ve gotten all serious on you, let’s bring it back to the geek side.  To help push towards safer driving, we are giving away FIVE Jawbone Icon Bluetooth headsets to those of you that pledge to put your phone down, and focus on the road.  To enter to win, all you need to do it head on over to AT&T’s Facebook page, click on the ‘Texting & Driving” tab, and take the pledge.  Once you do that, you’ll have a pledge number.  Then, leave a comment on this post (saying whatever you like) with your pledge number.  That’s all you need to do to be entered.  Easy right?

The contest will go until 11:59 PM PST on March 16th.  Winners will be contacted via TechnoBuffalo PM and will be chosen using Random.org’s number generator.  This contest is open to anyone in the world.  Only 1 entry per person.

If you don’t want to win the headset, please still take the pledge as AT&T is donating funds per pledge to a non-profit focusing on youth safety.
