iPhone 6 First Impressions: The Sleekest iPhone Ever Released

We had our first look at the brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus back during Apple’s iPhone 6 event earlier this month, but now we finally have a model in the office so we can finally start putting it through its real paces. We’re spending tons of time today unboxing both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, testing out the cameras and so much more, but now we’re here with our first impressions of the iPhone 6.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 almost feels a little like using an iPod touch — it’s super thin and incredibly light. It’s also obviously a good deal smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus, which has a larger 5.5-inch screen. There are a few caveats you should know about that come with the smaller iPhone 6, however. First, while it has the same powerful A8 processor and second generation M8 co-processor, it lacks optical image stabilization and instead has digital image stabilization in the camera. Additionally, the landscape mode in iOS 8 only supports the larger iPhone 6 Plus and iPads, so you lose out on that functionality. What you lose, however, you gain in the smaller form factor that some people prefer over phablets.

Still, we’re totally digging the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 right now and we’re going to be spending tons of additional time with it before we bring you our final thoughts in a full iPhone 6 review. Enjoy our hands-on video and first impressions above right now.
