It feels like we just unboxed a new 9.7-inch iPad, and indeed we did just this past March. Very few people suspected that there would be another new one a mere seven months later, but behold, the fourth generation iPad had indeed arrived.
While it is unusual for Apple to break from its yearly upgrade cycle on iOS devices, the number of tablets released since the New iPad this past spring almost made it a necessity. And with the Nexus 10 having been announced earlier this week, it seems that Apple may have done the right thing to keep the spotlight on its tablet through out the upcoming holiday shopping season.
Will a processor said to be twice as powerful as the previous and a new charging port be enough to make people want to run out and purchase the fourth generation iPad? Only time will tell, but for now we’re going to take a look and see what there is new here, and if it’s enough to keep the iPad on top of the larger form tablet market.
