iOS 7 GM Seed Tour

The official release of iOS 7 is less than a week away, but the official Gold Master (GM) Seed is available for developers. We’ve spent some time with the release version of iOS 7, and while there isn’t too much different from the first beta, Apple has unlocked some new ringtone, alert, and wallpaper options. There are also a few things missing: Keychain is mysteriously absent from this build, and neither iBooks nor Find My Friends have received app updates to bring their looks in line with the new, flatter design language.

The omission of Keychain is an interesting one, as it seems Apple isn’t quite ready to make that feature public yet. It’s possible they are recalibrating Keychain’s use to work more closely with Touch ID, but that remains to be seen. It’s also worth mentioning that most of Keychain’s worth lays in its syncing with OSX Mavericks, so it’s also possible Apple engineers will make Keychain official when their desktop OS gets its update.

Check out our short video tour, let us know if you’ll be updating your iOS device next week when the software gets official, and catch up on all of our iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and iOS 7 coverage if you missed anything.
