HTC One Google Play Edition Unboxing

by Jon Rettinger | July 5, 2013

The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play editions, both sporting pure Android, went on sale last week on the Google Play.  Google sent us a Google Play edition HTC One with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean installed and we’ve done a quick unboxing of the device.

The Google Play edition keeps all the awesome hardware of the HTC One without Sense 5.  However, the sans-Sense variant of the HTC One still supports Beats audio.  One added benefit of the Google Play edition is users should receive quicker Android updates without having to wait on hardware manufacturer and carrier meddling.

The stock Android variant of the HTC One is now available to all consumers through the Google Play Store for $599.
