HP (Palm) TouchPad: Kindle Books (Video)

The HP TouchPad was shown off earlier this week, and while there was a lot of talk about the hardware, there wasn’t a whole lot said about the apps.  The first app to get any love from a demo at the event was Amazon’s Kindle app.

Amazon has made sure to get its app on every conceivable device out there, so it’s no big surprise that the TouchPad will be receiving it.  However, I’m not sure this was the right time to show it off if you watch the video above.  While the TouchPad is still several months from release, and there are sure to be tweaks to the system, this demonstration comes off as quite laggy in response times.  The startup of the app, as well as the page turn, both seem to take far longer than they should, but hopefully that is no indication of speed at the time of device launch.

What say you?  What did you think of seeing an app on the TouchPad?
