Free Cases, Bumper Refunds & Little Else. “Antnnagate” Keynote Recap

by Jon Rettinger | July 16, 2010July 16, 2010 12:42 pm PST

The iPhone 4 antenna keynote just ended, with a relatively humble Steve Jobs.  Apple admitted there were issues at play (as if they could deny it) and is offering everyone a free case (they can’t make enough bumpers evidently), a full refund to anyone who bought a bumper, and waiving the restocking fee for anyone who wants to return their device within 30 days of purchase.  All of this is available for those who purchase their device before September 30th, when presumably, all phones shipping at that point will have a hardware fix. Full details on how this will work will be posted on Apple.com starting Monday.  Other news of note, the white iPhone 4 will be available the end of July, and 17 more countries will be able to get their Facetime on July 30th as well.  How do you feel about the announcement?  Happy with the case? Upset at the hubris? Own an Android device?
