One of TechnoBuffalo’s finest users, Winston is back with his weekly edition of BuffaloBuzz. According to the man himself, this round covers:
1) Leaked documents as originally shown by the Boy Genius Report shows an advertisement with a series of post-Thanksgiving bargains on iPods to MacBooks. Shown as only good on November 27th, these deals show “up to” discounts of 30 percent on iPods, 25 percent on Mac laptops and desktops and 15 percent on accessories, software and other hardware.
2) A third of cell phone users aged 16 and 17 admitted to texting while driving, according to focus groups and a report <http://pewresearch.org/assets/pdf/teens-and-distracted-driving.pdf> released Monday by Pew Research. For the report, “Teens and Distracted Driving,” Pew surveyed 800 kids aged 12 to 17 about their cell phone use in the car. Teens 16 and 17 years old were asked about their role as drivers, while younger ones were questioned about their experiences as passengers. Of all teens surveyed, 75 percent said they own a cell phone and 66 percent of those text. Half of teens 16 and 17 who own a cell phone said they’ve talked on the phone while driving. 3) Palm and Apple continues to play cat-and-mouse with the enabling of media syncing via iTunes. Between the constant updates of iTunes and Palm’s webOS, Pre users continue to deal with the battle between whether they can have the media sync or not.
4) Software Updates: MMS to Twitter, Google Earth 2.0 for iPod touch.
