I’ve said on many occasions that I have returned to the BlackBerry fold as of late. The main reason was my desire to once again use a physical keyboard due to the number of emails and texts I send while away from my desk, and having tactile keys is just a far better solution than pecking away at a virtual keyboard. While my first foray back into this world came via the BlackBerry 9780, I could barely contain my excitement for the BlackBerry 9900. The touchscreen addition to the familiar form factor along with a beefed up processor and the BlackBerry 7 OS was just about more than I could resist.
But now comes that time in every device’s life where you have to let reality seep in and see if it really was as much of an upgrade as you were hoping for. Does it really improve on the phone that was serving me faithfully? Did I make the right choice? I put the 9900 head-to-head with the 9780 and let them slug it out. Does the touchscreen really add that much to the BlackBerry experience? Does the faster processor make it run smoother? How is the all important keyboard? I went through all these questions and more in the video above, so be sure to check it out and let us know you’re take in the comments below.
What do you think? Does the BlackBerry Bold 9900 live up to your expectations for it?
