Barnes & Noble Nook HD Hands-On! (Video)

Earlier this morning (1a.m. EST), we published our hands-on photos of the Barnes & Noble Nook HD and Nook HD+, the company’s brand new eReader tablets. We figured you might have been sleeping, however, so we saved our hands-on videos for now. In this one, I take you through the 7-inch Nook HD briefly. It’s an amazing tablet with an insanely crisp display – the sharpest on the market, according to Barnes & Noble.

I’m drop dead in love with the Nook HD, I think it’s the next tablet for me. I haven’t seen the final software yet, but the body is amazing; the tablet is super light and very sturdy. It has a nice rubber grip around the bezel to prevent fingerprints, it provides multiple user accounts so that my fiance and I can share the same tablet, offers customizable home screens, and has a brand-new recommendation engine that recommends books based on my tastes – not just on what others have bought. Perfect example: If I like the Great Gatsby, it won’t recommend other books that people purchased because, ultimately, it’s probably on every high school reading list out there.

The 7-inch Nook HD is available for pre-order now and will ship by the end of this month, or in early November. We’ll be bringing you our full review as soon as possible, but I can already tell this is going to take the cake on the Kindle Fire HD.
