BlackBerry Z30-Front

Verizon Wireless announced on Monday that it will officially offer the BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry's first phablet, beginning in November. The phone will cost $199.99 with a new two-year contract, but will also be available on Verizon's early upgrade "Edge" plans for $22.91 per month for 24 months.

We we showed you in our unboxing, the BlackBerry Z30 is very much a BlackBerry Z10 but with a larger display. It sports a 5-inch screen with a 1,280 x 720-pixel resolution, a far cry from the 1080p displays on competing phones, a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of exapandable storage, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,880mAh battery.

Verizon stopped short of providing an exact launch date, but we expect those details to come very shortly.
