Verizon is reportedly ready to acquire Yahoo and will announce the deal in the "next few days," Bloomberg said Friday. The report follows months of bidding from companies that reportedly included Google, AT&T, Comcast, Time, Microsoft and several private equity firms at various points.

Yahoo had been shopping its business around to potential suitors as revenues continued to dive over the past several years, largely due to the company's inability to compete in the highly competitive, but once lucractive, online ad business against rivals such as Google.

Bloomberg warned that the deal may "still fall apart" and that discussions still remain private.
