If you dropped the cash for a screen that has higher-than-1080p resolution, don’t miss this Star Citizen trailer. The video is meant to be a commercial for one of the game’s many ships, the Anvil Aerospace Hornet.

The trailer, when ran on YouTube’s “Original” setting, is displayed at 4K resolution and, as Eurogamer writes, apparently rendered entirely in-engine.

“We scale everything for the super high resolutions that will be the basis for tomorrow’s gaming experience; our assets are designed with high polycounts instead of having details baked into their textures. That’s a big part of why Nvidia and AMD have been demoing Star Citizen at 4K,” creator Chris Roberts told Eurogamer.

Meanwhile, the work-in-progress, set for release sometime in 2015 currently, has pulled in $24 million in crowd-funded support since its announcement last October, making it a giant by those standards.

Roberts hopes that the space-combat and trading game heralds the return of PC gaming, which my Steam account suggests isn’t anywhere near dead. Either way, it looks like it’ll be a blast for those of us who miss games like Wing Commander, Freelancer, and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter.
