Are you waiting for more fun adventures with your old buddy Nathan Drake? Well, you'll probably see him again if Sony enjoys the critical acclaim and cash his games pull in, but his next treasure hunt is set to be developed under new leadership. Uncharted Creative Director and Writer Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog after being with the company for over ten years.

Naughty Dog confirmed in a statement to IGN that Hennig had moved on from the company, but her departure doesn't mean the end of Uncharted.

"We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."

Although Fortune Magazine had named her among the 10 most powerful women in gaming, IGN says their sources claim that Hennig had been "forced out" by The Last of Us directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley. No comment had been made to that effect. IGN says that the Uncharted series will now fall under their watch.

If the creators of The Last of Us now have control of the Uncharted series, how long will it take for Nathan Drake's journeys to take a serious turn to the dark side of storytelling? Will he return as the fun and slick talking mass murderer we all know and love, or will he turn into a cynical and selfish middle aged mass murderer with a gruff voice?

Don't laugh it off, because Naughty Dog had no problem giving the same treatment to Jak.
