The Uncharted series has just lost another key member of its central team. Uncharted 4 Director Justin Richmond has reported to IGN that he has left Naughty Dog to take up a position at Riot Games, creators of League of Legends.

"I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward," says Richmond. "On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can't wait to be a part of."

Before acting as the director of Uncharted 4, Richmond oversaw the multiplayer side of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and also directed Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. He follows series Creative Director Amy Hennig, who left Naughty Dog earlier this month. Naughty Dog and Sony had highlighted their involvement in Nathan Drake's latest worldly treasure hunt, so it remains to be seen how it will unfold without the two main creators at the helm.

Uncharted 4 has been confirmed for release on the PlayStation 4, but nothing else has been revealed. Only a teaser trailer has been shown to this point.
